MILLIONAIRE MONEY CONTEST BEGINS
Written by Angela Maue

The Post Dispatch is again running the Millionaire Money Contest which started Sunday, July 13th.  Last year, Zion organized a campaign of clipping and saving these scripts for our Elementary School.  With everyone's help we collected in excess of 2.9 Billion in Millionaire Money Script.  This effort allowed us to win Blues Season Tickets. The sales of those tickets brought in nearly $7000 for our school.  Did you know that $7000 is just less than 0.7% of the school budget.

We estimate that this contest will have many more groups organized and competition will be much greater than last year.  Our goal is to raise in excess of six billion in script.  Three weeks into this ten week contest we have less than one billion, though contributions are picking up.  The week ending Sunday, August 3rd, brought in nearly 270 Million at the Welcome Center collection point.

How can you help?

  • Collect your neighbors and friends newspapers/Script.
  • Ask your extended family members to clip and save, and to ask their neighbors and friends.
  • Ask your peers at work for their assistance.
  • Email all your St. Louis contacts and ask them to collect and mail their scripts.
  • When dropping off your recycling at your local newpaper recycling collection point, look for newspaper stuffed grocery bags.  Pull a few sections out and look for Millionaire Money Scripts.  If you locate some, take the bag home and get to clipping.

UPDATE:

Several supporters have asked how WE are doing.  Yesterday's Zion Welcome Center collection was 326 Million.  That is up from last week's 317M and previous week's of 254M.  Many thanks to Jennifer Mueller and her daughter Emily for helping me between services on Sunday.

Our total has just surpassed 1.52 Billion in script sorted, counted, stacked, stapled and stored. My goal is for US to reach 6 Billion.  We just ended week 5 of the 11 week campaign.

I have several bags of newspapers stacked up at my house that need to be searched.  The web page with locations of scripts helps a great deal with that search.

Please keep clipping and thanks for your help!  Feel free to forward to anyone who is interested.

Dear Fellow Christians,

I hope that you enjoy surfing through the Zion Lutheran School website. Whether you are currently a parent of one of our students or a parent looking for a new school home, I pray that you can find many answers about Zion while browsing the website.

Zion Lutheran School is a parochial school run by Zion Lutheran Church of Harvester (St. Charles), Missouri. We are affiliated with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and hold National Lutheran School Accreditation, as well as Missouri State Non-Public Accreditation.

Zion’s excellent faculty provides many opportunities for students to learn about our wonderful Creator, Savior and Provider (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) as well as learn about the beautiful and diverse world God has created. We hold classes in preschool, beginning at the age of 3, and continue classes through grade 8. Students at Zion learn of God’s love in weekly chapel services and in the day to day teaching of all subjects.

If you have any further questions about Zion, or need more information about the programs, we would love to have the opportunity to meet you and show you the wonderful things that God provided. Please call, or e-mail, and we can set up a time to discuss our mission and goals in detail.

One In Christ,

Mr. Marc Debrick
Principal
