The Fine Arts program at Zion Lutheran School combines artistic excellence with Christian values, helping students in grades 5–8 grow in creativity, confidence, collaboration, and faith while glorifying God through every form of artistic expression.


FINE ARTS OVERVIEW

At Zion Lutheran School, students participate in engaging Fine Arts instruction that includes music, visual art, and creative expression. Classes are designed to nurture each child’s God-given talents while building confidence, teamwork, and a love for the arts. Students gain opportunities to explore and grow creatively in a supportive, Christ-centered environment. All Fine Arts classes are led by dedicated, Christian educators who encourage students to honor God through creativity and excellence.
Visual Arts
ELP - 8th Grade
Students explore their God-given creativity through hands-on art projects, artist studies, and foundational art concepts. Artwork is proudly displayed in the hallways and church, allowing students to share their gifts while building confidence and skill.
Classroom music
Kindergarten - 4th grade
Students in grades K–4 enjoy classroom music twice a week, learning rhythm, melody, and songs they perform in church and school events. Grades 2–4 also participate in an annual musical.
Classroom Music
(JH Elective)
7th - 8th grade
Students in grades 7-8 can choose classroom music as an elective. In this class they learn about composers, music through the decades, and even get to write their own music.
Choir
5th - 8th grade
Zion’s choir program includes Jubilant Voice (5th grade) and Joyful Noise (grades 6–8), meeting twice each week. Students perform in concerts and chapel, developing strong vocal skills while using their voices to praise and glorify God..
Band
5th - 8th grade
Beginning in 5th grade, students start their musical journey in Beginner Band, then continue in Concert Band in grades 6–8. Students can choose from a wide variety of wind, wood, and percussion instruments and perform in concerts and chapel throughout the year.
Strings
4th - 8th grade
Students in grades 4–8 can learn violin, viola, or cello through Zion’s Strings program. They perform in concerts, chapel, and even join with other Lutheran schools for special combined performances as they grow in musicianship and confidence. Students in strings meet twice weekly.
