Service of Lessons & Carols

On Sunday, December 7th at 7 PM, Zion will hold it's annual Service of Lessons & Carols. Pre-service music will begin at 6:45 PM.

One of the key words during the Season of Advent is "prepare".  In our hectic and overly-scheduled lives, we often don't take the time to get our hearts and minds ready for Christ's triumphant return.

One excellent way to prepare your heart for Jesus' Coming is to join us for Lessons & Carols.  The service is a format of Christian worship that celebrates the birth of Jesus. The story of Adam and Eve's fall into sin, the promise of the Messiah, and the birth of Jesus is told in nine scripture readings, interspersed with the singing of Christmas carols and hymns by choirs, congregation, hand-bells, strings and brass.

This service provides ample opportunity for us to listen to the Word of God, to sing of the Good News of Christ Jesus, and to reflect on the great gift of salvation! Please join us for this tradition at Zion and invite your relatives, friends and neighbors to come and hear the powerful story of salvation unfold in Word and song.
