Frequently asked questions
What denomination is Zion Lutheran Church?
We are a congregation of the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS), united in our confession of Jesus Christ as taught in Holy Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions.
What do we believe as Lutherans?
Zion Lutheran Church is part of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS). We hold to the Bible as the inspired, inerrant Word of God and the sole rule for faith and life. We confess the three ecumenical creeds (Apostles', Nicene, Athanasian) and the Lutheran Confessions in the Book of Concord. Centered in Christ, we teach salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus' death and resurrection. We value the Sacraments: Holy Baptism (including infants) as God's gift of forgiveness and new life, and Holy Communion as Christ's true body and blood for the forgiveness of sins (closed communion practiced in fellowship with LCMS). We emphasize God's love, restoration for the broken, and living out faith through service.
