Scouting Ministry
Zion serves as the charter organization for several scouting troops. Troop leader information can be obtained by calling the Church Office.
Cub Scout Troop 757
Pack 757 is for boys in grades 1-5. Scouting emphasizes duty to God and country, helping others, having fun, and learning new things. Scouting also encourages boys to always do their best. Our activities cover a broad spectrum from hiking to roller skating parties, to our Scouting for Food Collection; from Pinewood Derby races to weather center visits to fishing derbies just to name a few. Scouting is a family oriented program that emphasizes parent and son participation.
The Pack meets the third Tuesday of each month in the Fellowship Hall. Each boy is also part of a smaller group, a Den of 4-8 boys in his grade that meets two to three times a month.
Boy Scout Troop 757
Scouting provides an excellent opportunity to mold the young men of the future and to gain experience by enjoying the outdoors. Boys age 11 through 17 years are eligible for membership. Boy Scouting focuses on three major areas of a youth's development: building good and solid character, fostering good citizenship and developing mental, moral and physical fitness. This is accomplished with a strong and active outdoor troop program run by the Scouts as supervised and approved by the adults. Boy Scouts camp out in all kinds of weather, rappel and rock climb, hike, canoe, bike, ride horses and much more. Contact the church office for more information about joining.
Girl Scouts
Girl Scouts at Zion are affiliated with the Girl Scout Council of Greater St. Louis. Girls of all ages as well as adult volunteers are welcome. Zion's troops participate in neighborhood, district and council activities, in addition to troop-level activities. Troop meeting times and places vary throughout the week.
