Saints With A Mission Purpose - Indian Nations, or SWAMP-IN, is as active as ever! We have 4 teams from area Lutheran churches going on mission trips to the Lakota Nation on the Cheyenne River reservation in July. Two of those teams will be from Zion. One will depart on July 2nd and the other on July 23rd. During these trips we will assist with various much needed repairs around the reservation, but also spread the Good News of the Gospel of Christ.
This year, we also have an LCMS Deaconess spending all 4 weeks of the mission on the reservation. We are hopeful she will be able to remain as a missionary plant on Cheyenne River.
The recent Oil Change Outreach was a big success! SWAMP-IN raised nearly $2,000 including matching funds from Thrivent Financial toward this year's expenses for the mission trips. Special thanks to Frecks and Sons Automotive, Zion's Ladies' Aid and Mary-Martha Societies and Men's Ministry for their support during this fundraising event. We still need additional funds to help with repair materials. If you can help, please contact the church office at 636-441-7425.
We make more progress with every passing year! A relationship of trust and understanding is building, and with that, hearts can be opened to Jesus' saving grace! Please pray for our continued success!
